The DIMAX multipurpose racking extends the wide range of Armes products and is characterised by its flexibility and ability to adapt, also in the long term, to different user requirements. This racking comes in four models (D10 – D20 – D30 – D40) according to the characteristics of the load unit to be stored.Models D30 and D40, which differ only due to their thickness, are characterised by uprights with six folds , and are the top performers in the DIMAX family. They allow you to build systems, including multi-shelf systems, up to a height of 9,000 mm and capacity of 40 kN (4,000 kg). The vertical supporting element consists of the sides, obtained by connecting two uprights by means of link bars bolted to the uprights, which give the structure excellent rigidity and load-bearing capacity. The possibility of using cross bracing guarantees further stability where necessary. The sides can be fitted with the patented Z-shaped shelving by means of innovative tapered shelf clips. Their characteristic section eliminates the need for electrical welding or spot welding, normally used in products of this type. The Z-shaped shelving can be supplied galvanised or painted, smooth or perforated. In addition to the Z-shaped shelving, reversible beams can be used to construct storage surfaces in different materials, for example galvanised sheet metal or wood. These specific beams can be used for storage of pallets or containers with limited weight. Lastly, the wide range of accessories available permits customisation of the structure obtained to suit many different needs.

CALCULATION
The load capacities of the various parts of the structure take into account the weight of the structure itself and the effective load and are based on the hypothesis of a uniformly distributed load (u.d.l.). Calculation of the load capacity of the frames takes account of the relative working conditions, considering the number, position in height of the shelves, the presence or absence of vertical bracing and floor anchorage characteristics. These capacities are calculated with the aid of an automatic code developed expressly for the evaluation of shelving. Deflections of the shelves that make up dimax multi-purpose shelving are within 1/200 of the span.

The tests carried out and the entire set of algorithms used for the procedure comply with the most authoritative framework of standards and recommendations applicable in Italy and on a European level, including:
• UNI ENV 1993-1-1:1994 and UNI ENV 1993-1-3: 2000 (Eurocode 3 – Steel structures design);
• CNR-UNI 10011:1997 (Steel constructions: instructions for the calculation, the execution, the test and the maintenance);
• CNR 10022:1998 (Cold profiles: instructions for the use in the constructions);
• UNI-En 10204 August 1991 (Metal products. Types of control documents);
• F.E.M. (Fédération Européenne de la Manutention) recommendations.
Application of the automatic code was supported by a prior series of experimental tests performed at university laboratories and designed to assess the principle geometric and physical parameters.
