Systems for the storage/movement of items of clothing deserve particular attention, as this type of handling requires dedicated logistical solutions. Since a storage system for items of clothing (both hanging and flat) can manage millions of pieces, it is obviously important to implement solutions that offer optimal management of products with such different volumes and weights and that guarantee the best possible utilisation of available space. The garment is always accompanied, in its journey from production to shipment, by its hanger which also identifies the type (model - size - colour). The garments are stored on metal tube shelving, purposely designed to support the hangers with the clothes. The storage system for these products is often organised on several floors, since movement of the garments, by means of aerial systems, must integrate with the operations carried out on the product also within the storage process (ironing, tagging, packing and boxing). For this reason the upper floors, intended purely for storage, are normally made of narrow gauge structures (approximately 2 metres), and stand on a GL8 long-span mezzanine floor, thus providing more flexible space on the ground floor. For internal transport aerial conveyors are used , on which the garments can be moved manually or by automatic systems; in the latter case, specific software is used for the management and shipping of orders. ARMES is able to accompany the customer from the design phase right through to final production.
